Royals sign outfielder Xavier Nady to minor-league contract

The Royals continued stockpiling outfielder depth Friday as they signed Xavier Nady to a minor-league contract. Nady, 34, has a career .270 average with a .324 on-base percentage, 101 home runs and 406 RBIs. He was on the Giants’ roster for their first-round playoff series.
